Movies, music and more…
As I first explained a year ago, my husband and I try to see every film with an Oscar nomination or a nominee in it before the prizes are awarded. We call this the Oscar Run.
Today we got our marching orders – the 2009 Oscar nominees were announced. Go here for a complete list.
Here are all the movies with a nomination or nominee (excluding shorts and the more obscure technical nominees):

That’s 44 movies, of which I’ve seen 8. Bottom line: I’ve got to watch 36 movies in 33 days. Gulp!

Just to check your math it’s 43 nominated films of which you’ve seen nine (Inglorious Basterds, Avatar, Up, Coraline, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Food Inc, Star Trek and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen). I don’t blame you for forgetting Transformers 2 … I wish I could. Also because Oscar Sunday happens in the evening we usually can see one or 2 nominees before the ceremony. That makes it a manageable 34 movies in 34 days!
